Principles and Practices
For my final project I am helping my lab to construct a ping pong machine (ball dispenser). My part will consist of a slider machine that will allow for the dispenser as well as its connected parts to slide left and right across the width of the table.
I will also be able to use this machine to mount my camera onto it for added filming capability.
At the users command, my machine will be programmed to move to three possible positions on the table. I am using a bipolar stepper motor that will be attached to a lead screw which will be used as my method of moving the slider tray.
Two aluminum rails will support the slider tray as well as the load of the rest of the ping pong machine. Either a base will be built to hold the slider or the slide machine will simply sit on the opposite edge of the ping pong table.
